Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 26, 2026. This policy explains what iLoveSGBus stores on your device, what network requests it makes, and how location is used when you request nearby stops.
Overview
iLoveSGBus is an Android app for viewing Singapore bus stops, services, routes, and live arrival times. The app is designed to work without an in-app account and does not use advertising or analytics SDKs.
Information stored on your device
iLoveSGBus stores app data locally on your device using Android app preferences. This may include your favorite stop and service pairs, favorite groups, recent items, cached static bus datasets, and screen awake settings.
Cached static bus stop, bus service, and bus route data is stored locally so the app can load faster and work with fewer repeated requests. That cache may be kept for up to 7 days before being refreshed.
iLoveSGBus does not create its own hosted user account and does not maintain a remote personal profile for you.
Network requests
iLoveSGBus connects to Singapore LTA DataMall to fetch live bus arrival information and static bus stop, bus service, and bus route datasets. These requests use the app's bundled LTA access key.
Live arrival responses are used to show current bus timings in the app. Static datasets may be cached locally on your device. Live arrival responses are not stored as part of a long-term personal history by the app.
Location permission
iLoveSGBus requests Android fine location permission only for the nearby-stop feature. Location is used when you choose to find bus stops near your current position.
If you do not grant location permission, you can still use the rest of the app, including stop search, service lookup, favorites, and live arrival viewing.
The app uses your current device location to calculate nearby stops in the app session. The app does not describe any separate cloud storage of your location history.
How your data is used
Your data is used only to provide app functionality, including:
- Saving your favorites, groups, recents, and settings locally
- Caching static bus datasets on your device
- Requesting live bus arrival and route data from LTA DataMall
- Finding nearby stops when you choose to use location
Data sharing
iLoveSGBus does not sell your personal information. The app does not use your data for advertising. The app sends requests to LTA DataMall so it can provide transport data, and location is used on-device for the nearby-stop feature when you request it.
Data retention and deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. Cached static transport data is refreshed periodically by the app.
Because iLoveSGBus does not maintain a separate hosted user account, it does not require a separate account deletion workflow.
Security
Reasonable measures are taken to protect app data, but no device or networked system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device.
Children
iLoveSGBus is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
